Simply put, your mind is your ability to pay attention.
How do I create a healthy mind?
Creating a healthy mind is about balance. Your mind is a muscle and ought to be treated as such. Just like all muscles if you don’t use it, you lose it! When the mind is stable, balance is created. So, watch your mood swings, attitude and emotions. The larger the swing, the greater the risk of mental health issues. Change is normal but imagine thinking you are one thing, then another thing and another thing, all in the same day. Your emotions change from happy to sad to mad to anger about these thoughts all in the matter of seconds?! This is an example of poor mental health because the mind is not focused or stable rather it’s “jumpy” moving back and forth through too many realities to maintain. Without focus, the mind cannot comprehend, and comprehension is stabilizing to a healthy mind. Knowing how you feel and what you think is vital for your mental health.
What can I do to improve my mind today?
“Pay attention” literally! Relax, laugh and don’t take yourself so seriously! Find things that you enjoy and practice them! Breathe more, talk to others, listen more, listen deeper, practice silence, go into nature, dance listen to music, work on things that are meaningful to you, meditate, go out and help others and take breaks from thinking so much! Find your passion! Find what you love and live your damn life!
